We hope to provide fresh perspectives from those entering our field, in both the United States and other countries. Interested faculty of graduate library and information science programs, who would like their students’ ideas represented in these pages, are invited to contact Miriam L. Matteson,mmattes1@kent.edu. Kris Joseph is a Master’s student in the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta. In this essay, he explores the notion of viewing open access from a “post-open” perspective where the idea of Open Access is no longer viewed as an abstract future state, but a current condition of the time.
