The present article reflects on the filiations and differentiation between the conversation and the dialogue from a research that takes the listening as a focus from several planes of analysis, among which the conversation stands out for the emphatic that it is in the recognition of the other. In addition, many authors and perspectives privilege dialogue over the conversation, a path is opened that invites the exploration of listening from the conversation at school. Aunque la escucha arroja valiosas posibilidades de investigación desde varios campos, disciplinas y perspectivas, sigue siendo el menos explorado en una jerarquía donde la escritura y la lectura han ocupado los primeros lugares. En el presente artículo se reflexiona sobre las filiaciones y diferenciaciones entre la conversación y el diálogo desde una pesquisa que toma como foco la escucha, a partir de varios planos de análisis, entre los que se destaca la conversación por lo enfática que es en el reconocimiento del otro.
