| Summary: | This article presents a report of the Committee on a Ten-Year Social Science Program for United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Since the Committee was first established this last year for the prime purpose of assisting the U.S. National Commission on UNESCO and the Division for the International Development of Social Sciences in long range plans for Social Sciences in UNESCO, officials in the Washing- ton office of the U.S. Commission were contacted early in the year. A session of UNESCO has been organized for the annual meetings in Los Angeles and the U.S. Commission has promised to have a representative on hand. President Everett Hughes attended the meeting of the companion committee in the American Anthropological Association and reported to members of the committee. It is apparent that the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO needs and should have the active participation of the various professional organizations. The active participation by the American Sociological Association on the Commission through formal representation in an effort to achieve the objectives of members is necessary.
