Sumario:The article examines the tri-dimensional approach to climate science used by the University of Costa Rica, with the aim of building climate related scientific capacity in Central America, enhance understanding of climate variability, and facilitate the incorporation of that improved understanding for society. Noted that the approach is anchored in the atmospheric sciences programmed at the university. It also explores the role of the Centre for Geophysical Research in climate science research.
