Summary:Wounds require oxygen to heal to generate energy required for cellular functions necessary for healing and resistance against infection (Sen, 2009). Expert clinicians from across Scotland met in Edinburgh in October 2017 to consider the type of patient and non-healing diabetic foot ulcers suitable for topical haemoglobin and to develop an algorithm for using Granulox® for multidisciplinary teams in Scotland. The group's recommendations are presented here.
