| Summary: | Hacettepe University Psychological Counselling Unit has been giving service to the students of Hacettepe University since 2012 and there are social workers, psychologists and psychological counsellors working in it. This unit is governed by the "Instruction on Hacettepe University Psychological Counselling Unit", published in April, 2017. In this study, how the unit operates, function and role of social work profession in the unit, and the level of positive - negative feelings of the students who received service from the social worker has been examined. The study was carried out with all 60 students (48 female and 12 male) who received counselling from the unit's social worker between 2015 and 2016. A qualitative research with general scanning model was used for the research. It is found that the positive affect mean score of the students' is 23.5±7.45 and negative affect mean score is 27.2±8.67. Statistically no meaningful results were found between mean scores of sex, department, age, and year of class (p> .05). However, the small differences observed indicated that female students', social sciences students and the older students were under more risk in terms of mean scores.
