Sumario:A literary analysis of the 1740 novel "Der redliche Mann an Hofe" ("The Honest Man at Court" by Johann Michael von Loen is presented. It examines how the novel reflects Loen's views on issues related to public and private identity and how he addresses these problems through the fictional space of "Wahrscheinlichkeit" (probability) created through the novel's poetics. The author goes on to suggest that Loen influenced Enlightenment thought on political and public reform.
