We can detect the traces of these advancements in all kinds of everyday activities that we can conceive of (behavior, fashion, eating and drinking habits, etc.). One of the areas that has been significantly affected and changed by technology is reading skills. Moreover, printed books, which have played a central role in intellectual civilization for centuries, are gradually replaced by e-books along with technological advancements. The aim of this study was to determine pre-service Turkish teachers' views of printed and e-books. For this purpose, this study sought to identify whether or not pre-service Turkish teachers read ebooks or prefer them to printed books and whether or not they think that e-books will replace printed books completely in the future. This study also investigated Turkish teachers' views of positive and negative aspects of printed and e-books, and the effect of printed and e-books on the development of reading skills. Study sample consisted of 150 senior students of the Department of Turkish Teaching of Muş Alparslan University, Yüzüncü Yıl University and Atatürk University in the spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. The theoretical approach of this descriptive study was based on a screening model. Data were collected using a "Scale on Pre-service Turkish Teachers' Views of Printed and E-books" developed by the researcher. Data were analyzed descriptively. 54% of participants stated that they prefer e-books to printed books, that e-books and printed books have many positive and negative features and that printed books are more useful than e-books in the development of reading skills. 57% of participants were of the opinion that e-books will replace printed books completely in the future. Recommendations were made based on these findings. Çağımızda bilişim teknolojilerinin oldukça hızlı bir şekilde ilerlemesi yaşamımızdaki nerdeyse her şeyi etkilemektedir. Günlük hayatta aklımıza gelebilecek her türlü faaliyette (davranışlarda, düşüncelerde, giyim kuşamda, yeme içmede) gelişen bu teknolojinin izlerine rastlamak mümkündür. Teknolojinin etkilediği önemli unsurlardan biri de okuma becerisidir. Bu bağlamda okuma becerisinde de değişmeler olmaktadır. Teknolojiyle birlikte yüzyıllardır insanlığa hizmet etmiş basılı kitaplar da yerini yavaş yavaş e-kitaba bırakmaktadır. Bu araştırmada Türkçe öğretmeni adaylarının basılı ve e-kitaba yönelik düşüncelerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Türkçe öğretmeni adaylarının e-kitap okuma ya da tercih etme durumları, basılı ve e-kitabın olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri, okuma becerisinin gelişmesinde basılı ve e-kitabın etkileri ve gelecekte e-kitabın basılı kitabın yerini tutup tutamayacağı araştırılmıştır. Araştırma 2017- 2018 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Muş Alparslan Üniversitesi, Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi ve Atatürk Üniversitesi Türkçe Öğretmenliği Bölümü 4. sınıfta öğrenim gören 150 Türkçe öğretmeni adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma, tarama modelinde olup betimsel bir nitelik taşımaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "Türkçe Öğretmeni Adaylarının Basılı ve E-Kitap Kullanımına İlişkin Görüşlerinin Belirlenmesi Formu" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler betimsel çözümleme yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; Türkçe öğretmeni adaylarının %54'ünün e-kitabı tercih ettikleri, basılı ve ekitabın birçok olumlu ve olumsuz özelliklerini belirttikleri, okuma becerilerinin gelişmesinde basılı kitabın daha yararlı olacağını düşündükleri ve %57'sinin gelecekte e-kitabın basılı kitabın yerini tutacağına yönelik bulgulara ulaşılmıştır.
