        The aim of this study is to determine the difference between the level of science and social studies teacher candidates. The sample of the study consisted of 39 science teacher candidates and 40 social science teacher candidates. "Reflective Thinking Tendency for Teachers and Teacher Candidates" (YANDE) scale developed by Semerci (2007) was used as a data collection tool. In the analysis of data, t-test and descriptive statistics were used in independent groups. According to the research results; social studies teacher candidates' reflective thinking levels were higher than science teacher candidates. The sub-dimensions in the scale were compared separately for the study groups and it is seen that there are differences between groups for some factors while there isn't difference for some factors.
        Bu çalışmanın amacı fen bilgisi ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının yanstıcı düşünme düzeyleri arasındaki farkı ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmanın örneklemini 39 fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı ile 40 sosyal bilimler öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Semerci (2007) tarafından geliştirilen "Öğretmen ve Öğretmen Adayları İçin Yansıtıcı Düşünme Eğilimi" (YANDE) ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde bağımsız gruplarda t-testi ve tanımlayıcı istatistikler kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının yansıtıcı düşünme düzeylerinin fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarından daha yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ölçekte bulunan alt boyutlar çalışma grupları için ayrı ayrı karşılaştırılmış ve bazı faktörler için fark bulunamazken bazı faktörlerde gruplar arasında fark olduğu görülmüştür.
