| Sumario: | This article presents information regarding the Rockefeller Foundation's social science program. The principal objective of the Rockefeller Foundation's program in the social sciences is the more effective analysis and better understanding of pressing social problems with a view to the improvement of the prevailing conditions of human life. The description of the year's work falls into two parts, a general program designed to promote certain interests in the social sciences as a whole, and a program of specific concentration in fields of special interest. The development of institutional centers of advanced training and research is regarded as the essential basis of the entire program. Nineteen institutions thus aided are listed in the annual report of the Foundation. The research now recognized by university administrators as essential to progress in the social sciences is costly in terms of both time and money and has been greatly retarded by the economic depression. In addition to the general program the Foundation has supported social science research in three specific fields, economic planning and control, international relations, social organization and procedure, with special reference to problems of community organization and planning.
