At this point, the most basic activity is to ensure that information and communication technologies are accessible for the whole community. Allied with the transition to globalization and information society, the period, in which all participants in the society played an active role in economic growth and development, has begun. Both global and private access in Turkey to information technology have been increasing gradually. However, fixed broadband internet access, which is one of the basic tools for accession to information, has not been sufficient, and as a result of this, the limitation of accession to information arises. In this study, a brief introduction to the concept of industry 4.0, the usage of fixed broadband internet on the way of industry 4.0 has focused on the importance for Turkey. 2011 yılında ortaya atılan ve etkileri henüz ülkemizde gün yüzüne çıkan endüstri 4.0 kavramı özellikle gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ekonomik büyüme tartışmalarının gündemine oturmuştur. Bu noktada en temel faaliyet bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin toplumun tamamına erişiminin sağlanmasıdır. Küreselleşme ve bilgi toplumuna geçiş ile birlikte toplumda yer alan tüm katılımcıların ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınmada aktif rol oynadığı bir dönem başlamıştır. Gerek küresel ölçekte gerekse Türkiye özelinde bilgi teknolojilerine erişim kademeli olarak artmaktadır. Fakat bilgiye erişimin temel araçlarından olan sabit genişbant internet erişimi yeterli düzeyde yer almamakta ve bu durumun bir sonucu olarak bilgiye erişimin sınırlılığı ortaya çıkmaktadır.
