Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of the altitude airglow volume emission rate (VER) profiles with the goal of establishing the cause or causes of occasional observed multi-peak and bifurcation anomalies in the tangent point limb emissions and in the derived VER profiles. These anomalies are important because they may lead to discrepancies in the analysis of the VER profiles.
