| Sumario: | The article presents an analysis of the representation of Argentine middle class families in the literary work of Roberto Arlt. According to the author, the literary discourse of Arlt must be understood in the historical context of Argentina at the beginning of the 20th century. The author focuses on the social roles dictated by social class differences, with emphasis on feminine roles. According to the author, Arlt describes common social practices of his time from the perspective of the individual subjectivity. |
