The poet published some poems, but did not publish a collection of poetry. In addition to the published poetic texts, the manuscript of poems stored in Algirdas Landsbergis' archive and Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum have been researched in the present article for the first time. Landsbergis debuted with the poem "Winter Evening" while he was studying at Kaunas Jesuit Gymnasium in 1940. Having started his creative debut from translations in the DP camp, he published his first poem "To a Distant Friend" in 1946 in the avantgarde cultural magazine Žvilgsniai. Other poems of Landsbergis were already published in the United States. The analysis of translations of poetic texts of Landsbergis shows that not all texts are of the same artistic level: from poetic experiments to highly artistic ("Once Departed", "Wiesbaden 1946", "Meserole Street Nocturne"). Landsbergis in his most early poems "Old Quaternaries", "The Gold" and "The Night Ages" opposes the tradition, a classic canon of the Lithuanian poetry, looking for expression of ideas that is capable of conveying the mood of generation. Landsbergis is inspired by modern art, writing otherwise, "breaking the form": a poem-litany, a poem-nocturne. Like entire work of the writer, it is characterized by experimental style of writing. Landsbergis' poetry can be described by epithets of prose, or borderline between the poetry and prose. The attempts in poetry enriched Landsbergis' creative work with lyricism. Straipsnyje pristatoma mažai tyrinėta išeivių rašytojo, literatūros kritiko Algirdo Landsbergio (1924-2004) kūrybinio palikimo dalis - poetiniai tekstai. Poetas yra paskelbęs keletą eilėraščių, bet nėra išleidęs poezijos rinkinio. Be publikuotų poetinių tekstų, į tyrimo lauką pirmąkart įtraukiami rankraštiniai poeto eilėraščiai, saugomi Algirdo Landsbergio archyve, Maironio lietuvių literatūros muziejuje. Landsbergis debiutavo 1940 m. eilėraščiu „Žiemos vakaras" Kauno jėzuitų gimnazijos sienlaikraštyje. DP stovykloje kūrybinį debiutą pradėjęs nuo vertimų, pirmą spausdintą eilėraštį „Tolimam draugui" paskelbė 1946 m. avangardiniame kultūros žurnale Žvilgsniai. Likusieji Landsbergio eilėraščiai jau publikuoti JAV laikotarpiu. Išanalizavus Landsbergio poetinių tekstų visumą paaiškėjo, kad ne visi tekstai yra vienodo meninio lygio: nuo poetinių bandymų iki itin meniškų tekstų („Kadais iškeliavusieji", „Wiesbaden 1946", „Meserole gatvės noktiurnas"). Pats Landsbergis ankstyvuosiuose eilėraščiuose „Senieji ketureiliai", „Aukso ir nakties amžiai" oponuoja tradicijai, klasikiniam lietuvių poezijos kanonui, ieško išraiškos, gebančios perteikti generacijos nuotaikas, idėjas. Landsbergiui daro įtakos modernusis menas, „formos laužymas": eilėraštis-litanija, eilėraštis-noktiurnas. Kaip ir visai rašytojo kūrybai, eilėraščiams būdingas eksperimentinis braižas. Landsbergio poeziją galima apibūdinti kaip prozišką, laviruojančią ties poezijos ir prozos riba.
