The study sample consisted of 1630 students. The data were collected using fear of missing out scale (FoMOS), and scale for problematic mobile phone use (PU). Statistically significant differences were found the mean scores on PU according to gender, age, and academic success. The students' mean scores on PU and FoMOS were found to significant difference depending on frequency of social media and phone use. A significant relationship was found between the mean scores for FoMOS and PU.
