Sumario:For the remaining 32 patients, the difference between the platelet count before starting PLEX and the platelet count after the third PLEX was calculated, and the 16 patients with a platelet count increase below the median were designated as "slow" responders, while the 16 patients with a platelet count increase above the median were designated as "rapid" responders. Sixty-five patients received PRPCs only (mean, 1.9 transfusions/patient; average, 1.3 units/patient) and 58 patients received CPCs only (mean, 1.5 transfusions/patient; mean, 1.4 units/patient); 84 patients received a combination of PRPCs and CPCs (mean, 10.6 transfusions/patient; mean, 9.4 units/patient).
