| Sumario: | The increasing woman's participation in the labor force has an impact on their allocation of time. The National Socio-economic Survey in Indonesia shows that overall, household expenditures on food away from home have increased. One of the hypotheses of this study is that working women choose to buy food rather than to cook to be more efficient and to save time. This study aimed to analyze the effects of working women on expenditures on food away from home in Indonesia using the data from the Susenas Consumption and Expenditures Module 2016. The result of the Tobit regression shows that a working mother gave significant effect on a household's expenditures on food away from home where households with full-time working women had higher expenditures on food away from home than those with women working part-time or not working at all. The result of this study is expected to complement the consumption study on food away from home in Indonesia. |
