Within this research we postulate a new hypothesis: the Roman origin of Dux neutrorum, and some investigative clues in Spanish catalogs covering historic Jewish translation area. Our intention is to show a possible relationship between the Hebrew manuscript of Al-Harizi and the mention of «cardinal romanus» present in one of the first incomplete Latin translation of Dux neutrorum, i.e., in the Liber de parabola. In this sense, we bracket the strongest historical hypotheses the 'Provence' and 'Sicilian' however not discarding their strong arguments. El presente artículo aspira a ser una contribución para las investigaciones sobre las traducciones latinas de Maimónides, especialmente en lo que se refiere a la traducción del Moreh Nevukhim que lleva el nombre Dux neutrorum. Con la presente investigación postularemos una nueva hipótesis: el origen romano del Dux neutrorum, e indicaremos algunas pistas de búsqueda de su posible traducción en catálogos en área española. Nuestra intención es mostrar una posible relación entre el manuscrito hebreo de Al-Harizi y las dos traducciones latinas de la obra de Maimónides: el Liber de parabola y el mismo Dux neutrorum.
