This article presents the main ideas developed by Avicenna in the text, in order to let the reader know one of the chief sources of the transcendental thought of Latin Scholastic. El capítulo quinto del libro I de la Philosophia prima de Avicena es la fuente obligada de la tesis del ente como lo primero conocido. Asimismo, presenta uno de los desarrollos de la idea de los multivoca del ente, es decir, los términos que tienen el mismo carácter de nociones primeras que están presente en la mente y que se identifican con el ente en su extensión, aunque aportan en la comprensión.
