Typically, madrasas are divided into two groups: hujra-type traditional madrasas and madrasas shaped in the style of secular educational institutions. The following three cases of Islamic teaching will illustrate differences between these two types of madrasas; how administrators, teachers, and students respond to the modernization projects of the state; as well as the differences in the modernization goals and strategies of the state and the madrasas. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: Y custom: Copyright of Muslim World is the property of Wiley-Blackwell and its content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites without the copyright holder's express written permission.
