These representations revolve around the recurring issues of exile, often already present since antiquity: they are those of the dual identity difficult to reconcile in a Europe and a Greece hit hard by the issue of immigration. Une étude diachronique de l'exil dans la Grèce, prenant appui sur l'étude du vocabulaire employé pour désigner l'exil en grec ancien et en grec moderne permet de mettre en avant une poétique croisée des représentations de l'exil.
