Moreover, global literacy could be defined as knowing, recognizing and comprehending current political, social and economic issues in order to be an active and global citizen. Briefly, it is the knowledge and understanding of the world the individual lives in. Having global literacy qualities could serve to a successful human profile both in own culture and through the ability to contribute at a universal scale. The aim of the present study is to present the global literacy skills, education and the reflections of global literacy on social studies curriculum in line with both the relevant literature and expert opinions. The present study employs a qualitative approach and is designed as a case study within the framework of the research method. The study group consists of 8 social studies experts. The participants in the study group were selected based on convenience situation sampling. Two different qualitative data collection methods and tools suitable for these methods were utilized in the present study. The first of these data collection methods was the interview forms and the other was related documents. The present study provided the findings on the relationship between global literacy and social studies, obtained from the social studies experts. Based on the obtained data, it was evident that all participants emphasized the necessity and importance of global literacy. Moreover, the participants stated that global literacy should be reflected more in both curricula and learning environments, since an individual possessing global literacy skills becomes advantageous in today’s world. Küresel okuryazarlık; küresel bilgiye sahip olma, küresel olayları kavrayabilme ve küresel farkındalık olarak tanımlanabilir. Ayrıca etkin ve küresel bir vatandaş olarak bireylerin rollerini yerine getirebilmesi için güncel siyasi, sosyal ve iktisadi konuların bilinmesi, okunması ve kavranması olarak tarif edilebilir. Kısacası yaşadığı dünyayı bilmesi, tanıması ve kavramasıdır. Küresel okuryazarlık niteliklerine sahip olma; bireyin hem kendi kültür çevresinde hem de evrensel ölçekte katkı sunacak bir kabiliyette başarılı bir insan profiline hizmet edecektir. Bu araştırmanın amacı küresel okuryazarlık becerisini, eğitimini ve küresel okuryazarlığın sosyal bilgiler müfredatına yansımalarını hem ilgili literatür hem de uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu araştırma nitel bir çalışma olarak tasarlanmış ve bu yöntem çerçevesinde durum çalışması olarak desenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma gurubunu 8 sosyal bilgiler uzmanı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubu kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesine uygun olarak seçilmiştir. Araştırmada iki farklı nitel veri toplama yöntemi ve bu yöntemlere uygun araçlar kullanılacaktır. Bu veri toplama yöntemlerinden birincisi görüşme formları, diğeri ilgili dokümanlar olmuştur. Bu araştırmayla sosyal bilgiler uzmanlarından elde edilen veriler yoluyla küresel okuryazarlık ve sosyal bilgiler ilişkisine dair bulgular elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilere göre bütün katılımcılar küresel okuryazarlığın gerekliliği ve önemine vurgu yapmışlardır. Ayrıca küresel okuryazarlığı hem müfredata hem de öğrenme ortamlarına daha yoğunluklu olarak yansıması gerektiğini ifade etmişlerdir.
