| Sumario: | The study aims to clarify some key aspects of understanding the problem of information security in modern conditions. In the article the whole complex of philosophical, General scientific and specific methods of research that are inherent in modern science are used. A key method was comparative-critical analysis of various conceptualizations of the phenomenon of information security. In addition, the methodological basis of research is based on General scientific methods of research of problems of information security in modern conditions, in particular empirical, comparative, analytical and descriptive. It is proved that in modern conditions of life of Ukrainian society, the need to study information security as part of national security (its category status, place and role in the existing security system) is one of the leading places.
