Sumario:The article emphasizes on factors of sex, class and socialization in the process of dating. Dating is itself an example of social interaction among people, which proceeds towards adult forms of action, especially the form of marriage. It is also a good example of socialization into a part of culture where the norms are fuzzy and contradictory. Several dilemmas arise in dating such as the attitude of the date and the question of whether or not to get sexually intimate with the date. The interpersonal aspects of the dating-sex problem have received some, although perhaps not enough, attention. One important variable in many sociological studies is class for which the father's occupation was taken as an index of an individual's class standing. Part of the discrepancy between this and other studies about class behavior may, of course, be located in the particular definition of class being used. Insight into the feelings of boys and girls have been offered, through a series of interview quotations about the problem of intimacy.
