The purpose of the author is to develop an analysis of the conflicts between conscience and law and of the so-called "conscientious objection". The thesis underlying this analysis is that an adequate understanding of the subject requires identifying to what extent it is relevant to distinguish between actions and omissions. The work is divided as follows. First, it explains what moral conscience is and why there is an obligation to follow it. Secondly, the conflicts between conscience and law are analyzed, and a proposal is presented on the exact scope of the duty to oppose unjust laws. Third, an analysis of the phenomenon of conscientious objection is offered in the light of the Thomistic categories. The paper ends with an evaluation of some proposals that attempt to solve problems about conscientious objection by appealing to the distinction between action and omission. En este trabajo se estudian los principios tomistas sobre la conciencia moral y la obligación de actuar conforme a ella. El propósito del autor es desarrollar un análisis de los conflictos entre conciencia y ley y de la denominada "objeción de conciencia". La tesis que subyace a este análisis consiste en que una comprensión adecuada del tema exige identificar en qué medida es relevante distinguir entre acciones y omisiones. El trabajo se divide de la siguiente manera. En primer lugar, se explica qué es la conciencia moral y por qué existe una obligación de seguirla. En segundo lugar, se analizan los conflictos entre conciencia y ley, y se presenta una propuesta sobre el exacto alcance del deber de oponerse a las normas injustas. En tercer lugar, se ofrece un análisis del fenómeno de la objeción de conciencia a la luz de las categorías tomistas.
