Sumario:The article discusses the neoclassical model of approaching money as a measure of comparison and a process of expressing preferences. Topics covered include the characters of commensurability, value, and credit in money, and the incongruity of money in neoclassical thought and its recurring character in political communities. Also noted is the Walrasian model in which the unit of account precedes rather than follows the act of comparison.
