| Sumario: | The article presents an analysis of a public records project to help students and journalists form a biographical sketch of any person through the usage of available public records. The project makes it easy to find out a fair amount about many individuals without that individual being aware of what's going on. Also, it raises some serious questions about just what constitutes an invasion of privacy. Students are asked to use sampling techniques to select the name of one person. They are then told to go to public records to find out all they can about that person. The results are to be written up in the form of a biographical sketch, complete with references.
