| Sumario: | Charles III's office at the Royal Seat of Aranjuez is a tour-de-force of porcelain engineering. The avian, bestial, figural, decorative, and botanical motifs suggest themes of natural history and commerce. The design highlights objects and specimens that voyaged throughout the network of global trade in which Spain participated in a room where domestic and foreign policies were shaped. Considering the room's political purpose and the estate's emphasis on botanical, agricultural, and zoological cultivation, I address the ideological relationship between the porcelain office's depiction of imperial abundance and the agrarian innovations, breeding, and collecting that occurred at Aranjuez. El antedespacho de Carlos III en el Real Sitio de Aranjuez es una maravilla de ingeniero de porcelana. Los motivos de aviar, bestial, figural, y botánico surgieren los temas de la historia natural y el comercio. El diseño destaca los objetos y los especímenes que viajaron por la red global en que España participaba en un espacio dónde las políticas domesticas e internacionales formaban. Considerando la función política del cuarto y el énfasis de la cultivación del botánico y zoológico del Sitio, analizo las relaciones ideológicas entre la representación de abundancia imperial del antedespacho y las innovaciones agrícolas que ocurrió en Aranjuez. |
