| Sumario: | In this article, the author discusses his book "Americanizing Latino Politics, Latinoizing American Politics" which focuses on political participation outcomes voting and vote choice and appraisals, and perceptions that extend to second year of the Donald Trump presidency. It mentions panethnicity became increasingly institutionalized in social and cultural terms starting in the 1980s. It also mentions group efforts to exercise civil rights and gain full and equal access to political rights. It discusses Latino political ethnicity has emerged as a result of shared experiences in the U.S. which together produce among Latinos a collective self‐image of themselves. |
