Sumario:During the past century, dramatic modifications in lifestyle have radically changed the health priorities in most areas of the world, owing to a growing incidence of non-communicable disease. Urbanisation and associated changes, such as sedentary life style and fat rich diet, and a higher inherited tendency for diabetes mellitus makes Indians more prone to metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance and its manifestation, such as NAFLD and NASH.
