Objective: to evaluate the effects of 3 sessions of manipulation of the upper cervical spine on pain, cervical mobility, Neck Disability Index (NDI) and the Migraine Disability Assessment (MIDAS) questionnaire of individuals with headache. Methods: 13 volunteers (28.1 ± 6.7 years) with headache participated. Initially, they filled in a pain diary for 4 weeks. After this period, the volunteers answered the NDI questionnaire and MIDAS. Then, the movements of the cervical spine were measured with the aid of a tape measure, with the volunteer seated. Subsequently, the intervention was performed (3 sessions with an interval of 7 days between them), with the volunteer in the supine position and the global maneuver for the upper cervical spine was applied bilaterally. At the end of the intervention, they were reassessed for cervical mobility and for the NDI and MIDAS questionnaires. After that period, they answered the pain diary again for another 4 weeks (follow up). The statistical analysis consisted of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test followed by ANOVA tests with post hoc and tukey or paired Student's t test with a significance level of 5%. Results: There was a significant improvement after the cervical mobility intervention, in the MIDAS and NDI questionnaires. The pain parameters, assessed by the pain diary, were significantly reduced during the intervention and remained in the follow up.
