Description
Summary:This article reports that STM publishers have given a mixed response to the science and technology committee's landmark report into the journals market. Bob Campbell, Blackwell Publishing Inc. president, said the two suggestions belied "a certain amount of raggedness" in the committee's understanding of institutional repositories. A significant number of publishers already allow academics to deposit digitally a version of their paper on an institutional repository. A recommendation for government to fund the British Library for digital deposit was roundly applauded by publishers. INSET: MPs' wish list for STM market.
