It situates these developments against, and in relation to, a longer history of queer politics in Canada while also emphasizing key moments and critical turns. Also examined here are the ways in which Indigenous studies, decolonial critiques, diaspora studies, and critical race studies have offered key interventions and heralded new horizons within the field. In thinking about these interventions and intersections, we frame our account through an emphasis on returns and revisions rather than a discourse of progress, which is what typically defines Canadian state narratives. Cette discussion offre une réflexion sur certains des changements et développements dans le domaine des études queers au Canada depuis le tournant du siècle. Elle situe ces développements en opposition et en relation avec l'histoire plus longue des politiques queers au Canada tout en mettant l'accent sur des moments clés et des tournants importants. L'article examine aussi les moyens dont les études autochtones, les critiques décoloniales, les études diasporiques et les études critiques des races ont offert des interventions clés et ont annoncé de nouveaux horizons dans le domaine.
