Chronological and factual aspects of Brno dissenters' activities are also given due treatment. The article opens with an account of the Müllers' samizdat efforts. Within those, principles significantly impacting their other unofficial struggle, were formed. A crucial event enabling Brno dissenters to get in contact with Jan Hus Educational Foundation was Jiří Müller meeting Roger Scruton in April 1981. Further cooperation could only evolve from there. First financial resources were provided for the purchase of audiotapes for recording certain lectures that were part of Brno home seminars, and an electronic typewriter. Substantial space is devoted to explore the effort invested in procuring up-to-date information technology (computers, printers, encrypted floppy disks). Here the origin of the Czech editor Morning Star, devised by Jiří Zlatuška, deserves a note. Chapters on videorecorders and camcorders contribute to understanding the situation. Thanks to the availability of videorecorders, the phenomenon of home cinemas (unofficial film viewing sessions in private homes) and the use of videocameras enabled the production of independent film documentaries. Emphasis is put on dissenting activities' methodological aspect, particularly the forms of conspiracy. The article strives to explore activities both on the Czech and the British sides. The British view of events could be elicited from a detailed study of documents deposited in the Jan Hus Educational Foundation Fund in MZM's sub-collection and from consultations with Barbara Day. The sources used for exploring events on the Czech part include literature now accessible, official documents of those times, as well as consultations with eye-witness activists, particularly Jiří Müller.
