The study sample consisted of (750) students, as the number of males reached (225) and (525) females, they were chosen by available sampling of technique students were enrolled in the second and summer semesters for the academic year (2018\2019), and to achieve the goals of the study, the measure of humor styles and the body image scale were used. The results showed that there are statistically significant differences in the humor styles attributed to gender, in favor of females in the affiliative humor, and the self-enhancing humor, and in favor of males with aggressive humor and self-defeating humor. the results also showed that the level of dissatisfaction with the body image of universities students was low in the overall score of the scale, and with regard to differences between the sexes, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the level of dissatisfaction with body image, in favor of females on the psychological and cognitive dimension, and the results showed that the style of self-defeating humor, and the style of affiliative humor, predictive ability of the dissatisfaction with the body image, where it explained (12%) of the total variation, in addition the results showed that indicated that the style of selfdefeating humor, and the style of affiliative humor, had a predictive ability of the body image in males; where explained what amount (20.1%) of the total variation, while all of the humor styles had a predictive ability in body image in females, where explained amounted (12%) of the total deviation. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: Arabic refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: Y dt: @attributes: year: 2020 holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
