Introduction: The analysis of the co-authorship network (ARC) is an important tool to evaluate the capacity of the institutional links. Objective: To characterize the collaboration trends of the Peruvian National Health Institute (NIH) using ARC in the period 1998-2018. Methods: Original publications (OP) between 1998 and 2018 with at least one author from Peruvian NIH were recovered from Scopus and Scielo Peru databases. The ARC was performed in Gephi® version 0.9.2. The metrics were: number of nodes, number of edges, centrality degree, weighted degree, intermediation degree, proximity, modularity, and network density. The analysis for authors and institutions were performed in two study periods: 1998-2008 and 2009-2018. Results: The collaboration network expanded in the last period, the main institutions in the network were the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control of the United States and the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Conclusions: The collaboration network of the Peruvian NIH reveals the increase of authors in OP. NIH requires to strengthen the density of its network and to have stronger links with more international and sub-national institutions.
