ab: The present paper aim to analyze some changes that occur in the child development and upbringing processes when entering the digital devices, like computers, tablets, Internet, mobile phones in the modern environment. The analysis focuses on the danger for children and the young generation of network dependence, online communication and digitization. How the parents control access to various digital devices? When they impose certain restrictions on the viewing of TV programs or usage of the Internet; and not only on what to watch, but as to how long. Do parents believe that the children could be protected from a variety of negative effects associated with aggression, high anxiety, uncertainty and emotional discomfort related to digital media. The paper is based on results obtained through qualitative methods in the course of research project "Digital media literacy in the context of "knowledge society": State and challenges" H25/4, funded by National Science Fund, carried out in different Bulgarian regions. The main methods for obtaining information are In-Depth Interviews (30) and Focus group (5) with parents and representatives from different social groups and institutions.
