It is understood that NRM's, which have generally emerged and spread in different parts of the world after the second half of the 20th century and have now become a part of the world's belief map, are accepted by various segments of society with the beliefs, rituals, lifestyles, and values they offer. The main methods that NRM's use while gaining supporters and how they manage not to lose their supporters are among the issues that are wondered and discussed in the context of NRM's. Considering that NRM's have started to exist in the internet world earlier than traditional religions, and their current members and target audiences are mostly people of the age who use the internet actively, the importance of addressing NRM's and their activities over the internet is clearly evident. It is understood that the NRM's actively use the internet with the motives of informing their existing members, organizing meetings and religious rituals, and gaining new followers by making propaganda and etc. As a result, it is noteworthy that some of the new religious movements basically pursue other interests by using some religious and spiritual elements as a means of camouflaging themselves. Bu çalışmada Yeni Dini Hareket (YDH)lerin internet üzerinden yürüttükleri misyonerlik faaliyetleri konu edilmektedir. Genellikle 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından sonra dünyanın farklı bölgelerinde ortaya çıkarak yayılan ve artık yeryüzünün inanç haritasının bir parçası haline gelen YDH'lerin, sundukları inançlar, ritüeller, yaşam biçimleri ve değerlerle toplumun çeşitli kesimlerinde kabul gördükleri anlaşılmaktadır. YDH'lerin taraftar kazanırken başvurdukları temel yöntemler ve taraftarlarını kaybetmemeyi nasıl başardıkları YDH'ler bağlamında merak edilen ve tartışılan hususların başında gelmektedir. Yeni dini hareketlerin internet dünyasında varlık göstermeye geleneksel dinlere nazaran daha erken dönemde başladıkları ve mevcut üyeleri ve hedef kitlelerinin büyük oranda interneti aktif kullanan yaştaki insanlardan oluştuğu dikkate alındığında YDH'ler ve internet üzerinden yürüttükleri faaliyetleri ele almanın önemini açıkça ortaya çıkmaktadır. YDH'lerin; mevcut üyelerini bilgilendirme, toplantılar ve dini ritüeller düzenleme, propaganda yaparak yeni taraftarlar kazanma vb. saiklerle interneti aktif bir şekilde kullandıkları anlaşılmaktadır.
