        Introduction: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacteria that colonizes the stomach and is a potential cause for gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric neoplasms. We analyzed the therapeutic response to initial treatment in patients with H. pylori of the gastroenterology clinic in Hospital Escola Luiz Gioseffi Jannuzzi (HELGJ). Materials and Methods: Retrospective and descriptive study using medical records of patients treated in HELGJ, from July 2013 to August 2017, diagnosed with H. pylori infection. Variables analyzed: age, gender, hypertension (HBP), diabetes mellitus 2 (T2D), smoking and drinking, family history, duodenitis, ulcer, types of gastritis, diagnosis of H. pylori before and after treatment. From the collected data, we calculated the response to treatment at 7 and 14 days in the infected. Results: 84 patients with H. pylori infection was included, being the predominant gender female. Therapeutic response was positive by 80.8% on the 7 day schedule and 81.25% on 14 days. Conclusion: It is observed in the study that the response to the treatments presented little variability, showing no significant difference.
        Introdução: O Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) é uma bactéria que coloniza o estômago, sendo causa potencial para gastrites, úlcera péptica e neoplasias gástricas. Objetivo: Analisar a resposta terapêutica ao tratamento inicial nos pacientes do ambulatório de gastroenterologia do Hospital Escola Luiz Gioseffi Jannuzzi (HELGJ) portadores de H. pylori. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo retrospectivo e descritivo utilizando prontuários de pacientes atendidos no HELGJ, no período de julho 2013 à Agosto de 2017, com diagnóstico de infecção pelo H. pylori. Variáveis analisadas: idade, sexo, hipertensão arterial (HAS), diabetes mellitus 2 (DM2), tabagismo e etilismo, histórico familiar, duodenite, úlcera, tipos de gastrite, diagnóstico do H. pylori pré e pós-tratamento. A partir dos dados coletados, calculamos a resposta ao tratamento com 7 e 14 dias nos infectados. Resultados: Foram incluídos 84 pacientes com a infecção pelo H. pylori, sendo o sexo feminino predominante. A resposta terapêutica foi positiva em 80,8% no esquema de 7 dias e 81,25% em 14 dias. Conclusão: Observa-se no estudo que a resposta aos tratamentos apresentou boa eficácia, pouca variabilidade, não apresentando diferença significativa.
