| Sumario: | Addiction is a complex disease that is progressive and is characterized by cycles of relapse and remission. Women of childbearing age are at increased risk of illicit drug use and drug-related health risks for themselves and their children. Literature suggests a medical-home model can be an effective treatment approach for postpartum women with substance use disorders (SUDs). A holistic SUD program at a large, southern academic medical center targets this population and provides "wrap around" care for the mother and child. A 1-hour focus group was conducted with seven women receiving services at the program. The feedback was positive, with women indicating the services they received decreased their drug use and improved mother and child interactions. As this holistic, medical-home model aims to incorporate rehabilitation counselors into this approach, examination of this program is highly relevant to the field.
