Sumario:Purpose The digital inclusion of older adults constitutes a challenge in contemporary societies. The next essay objective covered the study of the use intention of digital technology in older persons, particularly in analysing how the age and gender variables incidence. Investigations of the influence of social-demographic variables is essential to address the social divide generated by the digital divide. We raise the next two hypotheses: H1: The association between age and frequency of digital technologies use in older adults. H2: The gender impact on the use of digital technologies in older adults. Method Ex post facto study in the autonomous community of Castilla y Leon (Spain) with 1 651 older adults at the age of 60 (66.7% women, 31.4% men; average age 68.07±6.82). Instrument: Ad hoc questionnaire whereby agglutinate the different study variables in two dimensions; social-demographic variables (gender and age) and the use of digital devices and frequency (6 items structured in a summative scale Likert type (0=No have; 4= Often). The data test was realised using the statistics program IBM SPSS Statistics v.23. Results & Discussion Thought the realised analysis could be verified the raised hypothesis. H1: The association between age and frequency of digital technologies use in older adults (r=-,395, p=,000). H2: The gender impact on the use of digital technologies in older adults (Men > 66 age present a level of technologies use greater than the older women t=-4,60, p=,000, F=7,14). In function of age, significant differences are evident between men and women in age groups of 66-75 (Contingency coefficient, C=,169, p=,011) and in the ≥ 77 group (C=,407, p=,001). In short, the gender and age social-demographic variables demonstrate the incidence in the use of digital technologies like possible barriers or facilitator in this collective, especially when the age advances.
