| Sumario: | This article is a literature review on the current treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS). The review focused on pharmacological and laser therapies for the management of RAS. Nineteen studies were found that demonstrated the use of anti-inflammatory drugs, immunomodulators, monoclonal antibodies, antiseptics, and anesthetics, among others, for the treatment of RAS. It was concluded that pharmacological treatment should be individualized according to the patient's clinical presentation and history, and that laser therapy can be an alternative treatment with good results and low risk. Este artículo es una revisión de la literatura sobre el tratamiento actual de la estomatitis aftosa recurrente (EAR). La revisión se centró en terapias farmacológicas y con láser para el manejo de la EAR. Se encontraron 19 estudios que demostraron el uso de antiinflamatorios, inmunomoduladores, anticuerpos monoclonales, antisépticos y anestésicos, entre otros, para el tratamiento de la EAR. Se concluyó que el tratamiento farmacológico debe ser individualizado según la clínica y los antecedentes del paciente, y que la terapia láser puede ser una alternativa de tratamiento con buenos resultados y bajo riesgo. |
