As understanding of normal and pathologic biological processes, and their radiographic appearance has progressed, quantitative imaging biomarkers (QIBs) have been proposed which objectively measure characteristics derived from an image and indicate normal biologic processes, pathologic processes, or evaluate therapy response [[1]].
