      ab: Clinical interpretation of medical images still relies heavily on subjective interpretation of qualitative imaging features which is vulnerable to intra- and inter-observer variability. As understanding of normal and pathologic biological processes, and their radiographic appearance has progressed, quantitative imaging biomarkers (QIBs) have been proposed which objectively measure characteristics derived from an image and indicate normal biologic processes, pathologic processes, or evaluate therapy response [[1]]. In conclusion, QIBs are powerful tools which increase the information available to clinicians from imaging studies and may lay the foundation for advancements in clinical trials, clinical diagnosis, and support treatment strategies.
