| Sumario: | Another poem by Szymborska, a poem describing death as emptiness - "Kot w pustym mieszkaniu" [The Cat in an empty flat] - is also alluded to, but no answers are given, which is a common feature of many of Frajlich's poems. Both longed for and unattainable, epitomized as "Co's" [Something] in the first stanza of the poem, it is also vaguely present in another poem in the volume, "Z wycieczki w dojrzalo's'c (list drugi)" [From an excursion into maturity (The second letter)]. Unfortunately, this poem contrasts with some other poems in the section that I find rather platitudinous, like "Loki" [Curls], where no intriguing observations are made (the poem refers to curls in no need of being combed), nor language employed in any revealing way. Books can also appear disappointingly meaningless to the poet, as in the poem "Zakladka" [Bookmark]: the bookmark put at this or that page of the read book finally finds its place among unused bookmarks on the shelf.
