Sumario:The article states that the first public reference to Thomas Browne's "Pseudodoxia Epidemica," has an unlikely location, and for this reason has so far escaped the attention of scholars. It occurs on page 16 of George Masterson's "The Triumph stain'd," and seems to be the only printed mention of the first edition. Masterson was a Presbyterian minister at Shoreditch during the late 1640s, and attended a Leveller meeting in Wapping on January 18, 1647, which he subsequently reported to the Great Britain House of Commons the next day.
