MATERIALS AND METHODS: A descriptive observational study was carried out evaluating the records of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa treated with biological therapy between 2019-2020 from a dermatological center in the city of Medellin, Colombia. Sociodemographic and clinical variables were analyzed as well as the association between adherence and changes in quality of life. RESULTS: A total of 83 patients (51 women and 32 men) with a mean age of 32 years were studied. The armpits and groin were the most affected areas; 35% were classified as Hurley III, 33% as Hurley II, and only 11% as Hurley I; 9.6% had a diagnosis of depression and 7.3% were taking antidepressant medications for other reasons; 67.8% were adherent and 18.8% were not. Factors related to greater adherence were female gender, single or separated patients, and groin involvement. The relationship between Hurley classification and adherence was inversely proportional with a p value of 0.092. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows a tendency for patients with adherence problems to have a greater affectation in the quality of life given by the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). OBJETIVO: Aportar evidencia en condiciones de práctica local acerca del apego y la calidad de vida de los pacientes con hidradenitis supurativa que reciben terapia biológica. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Estudio observacional descriptivo en el que se evaluaron las historias clínicas de pacientes con hidradenitis supurativa tratados con terapia biológica entre los años 2019 y 2020 provenientes de un centro dermatológico en la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia. Se analizaron variables sociodemográficas y clínicas, así como la asociación entre apego y cambios en la calidad de vida. RESULTADOS: Se estudiaron 83 pacientes (51 mujeres y 32 hombres) con edad media de 32 años. Las axilas y las ingles fueron los sitios más afectados. Un 35% se clasificó como Hurley III, un 33% como Hurley II y sólo el 11% como Hurley I. Un 9.6% tenía diagnóstico de depresión y el 7.3% tomaba medicamentos antidepresivos por otros motivos. El 67.8% tenía apego al tratamiento y un 18.8% no. Los factores relacionados con mayor apego fueron el sexo femenino, los pacientes solteros o separados y el daño inguinal. La relación entre la clasificación de Hurley y el apego fue inversamente proporcional con un valor p de 0.092.
