The literature shows that Berberis vulgaris has good action in rheumatic pains apart from renal calculi expellant or renal colic due to calculi. It's mainly indicated in old, gouty constitution, and belongs to rheumatic diathesis and is helpful in treating the joints pain. The main alkaloid is berberine which helps in treating varies disease like renal calculi, fever, leucorrhoea, vitiligo, jaundice, etc. |
