Sumario:The article discusses research on pre-emptive second renal transplant from deceased donor. The study compared homogenisation and efficacy variables between a group of patients in pre-dialysis who received a second kidney transplant (Tx) and a control group who received Tx while on dialysis. Study results presented indicate the advantage of preventive transplantation including lower incidence of delayed graft function, greater immunological tolerance and avoidance of graft intolerance syndrome.
