Under the pandemic, reliance on online teaching and learning has intensified the problem. In this paper, we report on a project in which we developed virtual teaching and learning materials in the form of animated videos and case-based videos in a leadership subject for university students. Based on the positive youth development (PYD) approach, experienced teachers developed 24 videos surrounding different PYD constructs. These PYD constructs included self-understanding and selfmanagement, cognitive competence, social-emotional competence, resilience, moral competence, spirituality, law-abiding leadership, cultural competence, effective communication and team building. To understand the effectiveness of the developed videos, we piloted them in Semester 2 of the 2021/22 academic year via online teaching.
