Sumario:Vasomotor symptoms (VMS), such as hot flashes and night sweats, are the most commonly reported symptoms among menopausal women. Clinical guidelines recommend hormone therapy and/or nonhormonal prescription medication for VMS. However, due to personal concerns and/or beliefs, women may prefer complementary and integrative health approaches. Hence, it is important for nurse practitioners to have a good understanding of the full spectrum of treatment options and to individualize care to each woman's concerns, beliefs, and preferences.
